Located in the iconic 801 Grand building, Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath’s Des Moines office has evolved alongside shifting workplace dynamics and a renewed emphasis on in-person collaboration in the post-COVID era. As employees return to the office, the firm is focused on fostering connection, camaraderie, and a vibrant workplace culture.
Building on previous renovation phases, this latest update introduces a new Break Room, welcoming Lobby, and Work Room, each thoughtfully designed to support the firm’s evolving needs. At the heart of this phase is the Break Room, envisioned as the “FDBR DSM Townhall.” This central gathering space embodies the firm’s commitment to community and collaboration, serving as a versatile, multi-functional hub.
The Townhall functions as a dynamic social space: a place for casual meals, informal meetings, after-hours events, and friendly games of shuffleboard. With an open layout and clear sightlines, it encourages spontaneous interaction and cross-team connections, becoming a daily destination that nurtures the firm’s unique culture.
Reflecting Faegre Drinker’s warm, minimal aesthetic, the space balances comfort and refinement, accented by thoughtfully curated artwork, a soothing color palette, and premium amenities. Notably, custom-fabricated art pieces, originally floor installations, have been reimagined as suspended ceiling elements, preserving their iconic presence while enhancing functionality and breathing new life into the space.
