JouJou is a Montessori-inspired play space designed for children ages 0-5 that fosters purposeful, self-directed learning through a bright, open, and thoughtfully curated environment. Located in a neighborhood retail center, the 2,600-square-foot space features natural materials, bold graphics, and designated areas for infants and toddlers, alongside amenities like a reading nook, party room, kitchenette, and family restrooms. Preserving original architectural elements and incorporating sustainable finishes, the design supports intentional play and parenting while creating a warm, eco-friendly atmosphere. JouJou serves as a community hub in Des Moines—offering open play, classes, wellness sessions, and events that nurture connection, learning, and family well-being.
