This workplace pairs a refined, contemporary interior with the raw character of a historic rug factory. Original plaster walls, beadboard ceilings, concrete floors, and abundant natural light provide an authentic backdrop for a flexible, collaborative work environment.
Furniture, storage, and dramatic curtains organize the open floor plate into distinct yet connected spaces. Soft seating and refined furnishings bring warmth to the industrial shell, while curtains provide privacy, separation, and flexibility as needs change.
Large windows and three recreated carriage doors connect the workplace to the surrounding neighborhood. Opening onto the city sidewalk, the doors blur the boundary between office and community, bringing daylight, views, and street life into the everyday experience.
The design celebrates the building’s history without recreating it, introducing contemporary elements that complement rather than compete with the original architecture. The result is a welcoming, adaptable workplace deeply rooted in its place.
